PRACTICES AND TOURNAMENTS

TRAVEL TEAMS typically practice 2 days per week, with periodic 3rd days, and skill/position-specific training clinics. Tournaments are approximately 1 or 2 per month with some tournaments requiring an overnight stay. Most teams will participate at the SCVA 3-day Junior Olympic Qualifier tournament. The 17U and 18U teams will also participate in the Las Vegas Invitational Tournament over President's Day weekend. It is mandatory for any team who qualifies for JO's to attend at the end of the seson. See TOURNAMENTS

BLENDERS teams will practice 2 days per week, with various scrimmage matches or skill-specific training clinics. Players will participate in at least four tournaments either on the weekends or evenings which are organized by the Club, as well as possibly compete in other tournaments in the 805 area code. See TOURNAMENTS

PRACTICES are tentatively scheduled within the hours of 4:00 to 9:30 Monday thru Sunday. It is our intent to provide the earlier practice times to the younger players, however, this is not always possible. Practices may be at the Page Youth Center, UCSB (Rob Gym), Girls Inc. of Goleta, or SBCC. The schedule depends primarily on gym availability and the number of teams fielded. See PRACTICES

COSTS FOR REGULAR SEASON

CLUB FEES are all-inclusive of regular base dues, and travel costs for the travel players to attend overnight tournaments during the regular season. We do our best to provide a service where there are no additional expenses or surprise travel costs for players during the course of the season. The Club takes care of overnight arrangements for the players and coaches during the regular SCVA season. This makes a difference when comparing costs and convenience to other clubs!

CLUB FEES for both programs cover the costs of tournament registrations, uniform packages, coaches' salaries, facility rentals and miscellaneous operating expenses for the regular season.

For TRAVEL TEAMS, the lodging, meals, and gas reimbursement costs for the players and coaches only are included for the regualr season overnight tournaments and all hotel arrangements and payments for the teams only will be handled by the Club. *Meals and gas costs to regular one day tournaments are not included.

Also included are the travel costs to cover the Club and coaches' travel expenses only for the top travel teams to complete at the JUNIOR OLYMPIC Tournament (should the team qualify). NOTE: if a top team does not qualify, this portion of the travel costs will be refunded to the players, unless the MAJORITY of the team chooses to attend an alternate post season tournament.

*Hotel costs and arrangements FOR PARENTS are not included for any SCVA or post season tournament.

POST SEASON TOURNAMENTS & COSTS

JUNIOR OLYMPICS
*For travel teams who qualify for Junior Olympics, all players are expected to participate!
The Program Fees for the TOP TEAMS in each age division (or any team the Club feels may have a good chance at qualifying) will include certain travel costs for participating at Junior Olympics.* Shoud teams not qualify either at a qualifier or through a Region bid, those travel fees will be refunded to the player unless the MAJORITY of the team chooses to attend an alternate post season tournament.

*The amount included in the Program Fees for Junior Olympics (or post season play) covers the costs of tournament registration for the team, airfare and per diem for the head coach and the assistant coach, as well as hotel costs for the coaches and one chaperone per team. These costs will be collected and paid directly by the Club.

Each team is repsonsibile to make their own travel, hotel and meal arrangments and collect necessary funds per player among themselves. The total cost per player depends on the venue and how each team decides to travel, the lodging chosen, etc. The Club will assist teams if necessary and provide each team with further details prior to the tournament.
