Jake Hong

After taking over as Interim Director during the 2010 season, Jake is excited to begin his first full year as Club Director for the 2011 season!

Jake played at Bellarmine College Prep High School, then played one year for Cal Poly Men's Volleyball Club team. He has coached camps for over 5 years at colleges such as Long Beach State, Stanford, Cal Berkeley, UCSB, College of Charleston, and Cal Poly SLO. Jake volunteered his time for the women's team at Cal Poly SLO, while also coaching the Cal Poly SLO Club team for two years. While attend UCSB, Jake was the volunteer assistant coach for the women Gauchos for two years, and was an assistant for the women Vaqueros at Santa Barbara City College for one year.

Since coming to Santa Barbara, Jake has been coaching or assisting at all age levels for SBVC for many years, including Travel and Blenders teams, clinics and camps. Jake has has overseen the Blenders Program and directed the Madskills since 2008.

As a coach for the travel teams, Jake assisted the '06 16-1 team as they placed 5th in the National Division at Junior Olympics, and in '07 his 15-1 team likewise competed and placed 5th in the National Division of Junior Olympics. He led his '08 15-Elite team to a 5th place finish at the SCVA Qualifer and won the Bronze medal in the Open Division at JO's. Jake's '09 16-Blue team also earned a Bronze Medal in the American Division of Junior Olympics!
