GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
The Santa Barbara Volleyball Club's 12-1 team made a successful Southern California Volleyball Association tournament debut, winning all three matches to take first place.

"With only four practices, I was impressed how we played as a team," said coach K.C. Collins. The players were consistent and solid from the start, and every player had a standout moment during the day."

Also placing first was Tina Brown's 13-2 squad.
"Haley Fuller did a great job in the middle, and adjusting well when asked to hit outside," said Brown. "Nicole Tetherow did an incredible job hitting on the outside, as well as solid passing and defense. Dianna Sleep served so tough all day, and one match served eight straight points to bring us from behind to win the game"

The 14-2 team went 2-1 to place second in its pool.
"Our consistent passing and strong serving was key to our success, and middles Holly Emerson and Kari Garcia stepped up their offense to earn many points for the team," Collins said. "McKenzie Boss and Jillian McIntyre were instrumental in setting consistently all day."

The club's 15-3 squad of Courtney Preston placed fourth in its pool.
