GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Behind the hitting of Kari Oslie and Maria Mayer, the Santa Barbara Volleyball Club's 17-1 team won its pool and moved up a division in Southern California Volleyball Association tournament play.

"The team played with a lot of energy and it showed with our success from the day," said coach Jake Hong.

The 18-1 team went 0-3 in pool play and 1-1 in the Division 1 playoffs. Coach Jason Donnelly praised the play of Hannah Munneke, Annie Villanueva and Kati Cattaneo.

The 15-1 squad remained in Division 1 despite losing its first playoff game. The team went 3-0 in pool play.

Coach Hong lauded the play of Mimi Cuttrell and Kelcey Chaffin.

Greg Novak's 15-2 team dropped to Division 3 after going 1-2 in pool play and 0-1 in the playoffs.

Christina Miller, Alyssa Dobrotin and Kristen Schroeder played well, said Novak.

The 15-3 team of Courtney Preston went 2-1 in pool play and received good play from Jessie Chan, Robin Zelko and Mariah Cochrane.
